Making a Difference Together!

It was a humbling experience to continue our partnership with the CT Foodshare organization this week. Six members of our Westport team took a trip down to the Bridgeport facility on Tuesday to participate in their Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Our volunteers helped to sort, inspect, organize, and build food boxes packed with essentials.

A big shoutout to Jeffrey Mastrianna, Edna Silva, Caroline Keenan, Brian Marshall, Maria Tolzmann, and Marissa Trafecante for helping prepare 562 food boxes (16,860 lbs of food) for our CT neighbors! Each individual box will be distributed to a CT senior lacking access to food staples that help to support a nutritious diet.

Founded in 1982, Connecticut Foodshare is a member of the Feeding America nationwide network. This organization is dedicated to transforming our communities each and every day, playing a crucial role in addressing hunger and food insecurities across our state. Their contributions provide access to nutritious food, help to promote self-sufficiency, and advocate for positive change.

As such, we admire the CT Foodshare’s wonderous efforts to mobilize community partners, volunteers, and supporters to make a meaningful impact.
