Rosa Cadena began her career in the financial services industry 11 years ago as a teller at Peoples United Bank. A self-described people person, Rosa recognized that her passion for helping others could be used to help people better their lives through planning for their ideal financial futures. And in the five years since she joined the team at GYL Financial Synergies, Rosa has done just that for countless clients.
Rosa began her career at GYL in 2017 as a Client Associate, assisting with the daily needs of private and institutional clients. But it wasn’t long before her desire to help others and her willingness to step outside her comfort zone (Rosa is thinking about getting back into tap dancing lessons) drove her to take on a new role at GYL. As Operations & Compliance Liaison, Rosa helps GYL team members work more efficiently so they can be better, faster, and stronger for their clients.
Rosa has been able to succeed in her role as Operations & Compliance Liaison not just because of her financial and educational background—she holds the Series 65 license and has an MBA from the University of Bridgeport—but because of her attitude. When asked what advice she would give to young women who are hoping to work in the financial services industry, Rosa responded “Ask questions and don’t be afraid to try.” Rosa’s curiosity, fearlessness in the face of the unknown, and genuine enthusiasm for helping others have served her well in the five years since she joined GYL Financial Synergies. We can’t wait to see what the next five years holds for her.
