The Connecticut Foodshare strives to support individuals and families by helping to alleviate hunger throughout the state. To support the organization’s mission, on December 13th, six team members from GYL’s Westport location came together with a common goal: to serve the community.
Rosa Cadena, Netta Beason, Allie DiMauro, Brenda Delmore, Nancy McCullough, and Scott Bogan volunteered for meat packing day at the Connecticut Foodshare in Wallingford. “It was great being able to go back out and volunteer in person once again,” said Rosa. “That feeling of being able to help others is amazing. A couple of hours goes a long way for others in need.”
The group sorted and packed an impressive 7,100 pounds of meat products that will be delivered to families and individuals in need. We applaud our team members for rolling up their sleeves to support a worthy cause! To learn more about Connecticut Foodshare and how you can help, visit www.ctfoodshare.org.
